Organizer: „Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun” Foundation, not-for-profit and non-government organization, established by Ministry of Justice of Bosnia-Herzegovina, to engage in archaeological digging and protection of the cultural heritage of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Description: Archaeological Summer Camp for volounteers from all over the world who will be working under professional supervison.
Particiants: Hundreds of volunteers from dozens of countries and six continents in two-week shifts.
Project management: (1) Principal Investigator dr. Semir Sam Osmanagich, (2) Archaeologist dr. Ricardo Brett and (3) Field Supervisor Admir Tatar.
Locations: All archaeological locations of the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids in Visoko (Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun, Underground Labyrinth „Ravne” and others) permmitted by the Government bodies.
Accommodation of volunteers: Volunteers will be accommodated in the motel „Piramida Sunca” in Visoko in the rooms with four beds (http://www.motelpiramidasunca.co.ba/index_en.htm)
Meals: Foundation provides continental breakfast and modest field lunch (sandwich, fruit, water). Volunteers are responsible for dinner and other meals. Note: food in stores and restaurants in Visoko is inexpensive and very close to the motel.
Insurance: Volunteers are insured during their stay in Visoko in a case of injury and need for short hospitalization.
Tools: Foundation provides all necessary work tools and eqipment.
Shifts: Work will be organized in two-week shifts (14 days total) as follow: 1st shfit: June 3 – June 17; 2nd shift: June 17 – July 1; 3rd shift: July 1 – July 15; 4th shift: July 15 – July 29; 5th shift: July 29 – August 12; 6th shift: August 12 – August 26; 7th shift: August 26 – September 9. First day of the shift is Sunday (arrival to Visoko during afternoon/evening). The last day of the shift is Sunday as well (departure on Sunday morning). Sunday is not working day.
Volunteering: According to the law of Bosnia-Herzegovina, all volunteers need to sign Contract and Statement to volunteer as soon as they arrive. There will be 36 working hours per week. Business hours are 9.00 a.m. – 3.00 p.m. Volunteers will be exposed to the hard field work, using tools under supervision. Summer temperatures are in the range 16-36 C degrees outside, and 12 C degrees in underground labyrinth. Volunteers have to be 18 years old when arrive in Visoko. They are financially responsible for return ticket to/from Visoko.
Duration of the stay: Project management can approve longer stay than 2 weeks to professionals (archaeologists, geophysicists, and similar) and especailly hard-working volunteers. Also, management could approve shorter stay than 2 weeks if volunteers can not stay 14 days. Project management can remove any volunteer from Summer Camp immediatelly if they do not fullfilled their obligations or they act inappropriately.
Financial obligations for volunteers: All volunteers participate in costs during their stay in Visoko. Participation is 18 KM (Bosnian marks) or 9 euro per day. It is 126 KM or 63 euro per week. Total amount for 2 week stay is 252 KM or 126 euro. Total amount for stay has to be paid upon arrival. This participation, together with Foundation’s funds, covers the following: accommodation (bed, electricity, water, room TV), tax (WATT) of 17%, daily Tourist tax, continental breakfast, field lunch, health insurance, tools and equipment for work, administrative costs.
Public awareness: Foundation’s Board of Directors consists of distinguished independent intelectuals from Bosnia-Herzegovina. Board approved the project documentation, project management, financial plan and Summer Camp reports.
Effects: Affirmation of volunteerism, promotion of the Bosnian pyramid project and archaological tourism in Bosnia.
