The reaction to the text published in "OSLOBOĐENJE"-titled
"The most Eminent Pre-Historian in Europe"--published on April 19 , page 10.
The Press Agency for the Academy of Science and Arts-B&H wrote to „Oslobođenje"(April 19 2009) about Semir Osmanagic's response to Blagoje Govedarica, which Oslobodjenje published under the smashing headline
" Dr. Blagoje Govedarica the most eminent pre-historian in Europe". .
The text contains several false and disturbing facts that are misleading to European and wider public.
ANUBiH commented about Semir Osmanagić's text, where he stated that Blagoje Govedarica is not a regular University professor.
ANUBIH stated that such claims were false and offered "the real facts" by claiming that Mr. Govedarica is a "promoted scientist". However, the reality is that Mr. Govedarica is not a regular Professor and this fact can be easily established if one looks at the official web site of the German Institute of the "Pre-History Dept. in Heidelberg, where his title reads "Privat. dozent Dr. Blagoje Govedarica" His new title 2008 reads "Honorar aussenplanmassig Profesor" ( Professor to be planned for wages ). Unlike dozens of his colleagues, Govedarica does not have a title of one regular professor. Just for the record, the Foundation's Press Agency will contact this institution and request an official statement about Mr. Govedarica's status; if Mr. Govedarica is a regular Professor at their institution and forward that information to ANUBiH (Academy of Science and Arts-Bosnia and Herzegovina) .
Also, ANUBiH's Press Agency claims that "Mr. Govedarica is considered to be one of the most eminent scientists in pre-history that currently operates in Europe" -and based on this-- "Oslobođenje" published their text under the headline "The Most Eminent Pre-Historian in Europe ".
There are several hundreds European scientists who specialize in pre-history and are regular professors who have achieved significant achievements and discoveries, much higher than Mr Govedarica has. Therefore, it is false and disturbing for the public to misinform and claim that Govedarica is the most eminent pre-historian in Europe. The Foundation's Press Agency will also ask Heidelberg's Institution and their leading experts who continuously work on many projects (where Govedarica has never participated), if they share the same opinion.
The aforementioned agency also adamantly claimed that Mr. Govedarica never requested any fees from ANUBiH. However, one of the professors from Sarajevo who was one of the founders of the Archaeology Department in the University of Philosophy Sarajevo, particularly talks about the problem of paying Govedarica and his motive to provide any services to this Faculty. On the other hand, Mr. Govedarica is attacking Osmanagic who personally has been financing this project for 4 years now in order to promote the archaeology in Visoko and archaeological tourism of Bosnia and Herzegovina throughout the entire world. One of the most prestigious institutions in the world-The Alexandrian Archaeological Society has accepted Semir Osmanagić' into their membership for his discoveries in Visoko and positive promotions of B&H.
ANUBiH's Agency claims that Govedarica "contributed a great deal with his works throughout the globe"..... However, if one does any internet research, it is easy to notice that Mr. Govedarica wrote one book, which was actually published by ANUBiH in 1989, under the title " Early Bronze Age in the Area of Eastern Adriatic" . Hi second book was published in 2004 with the similar title about the Bronze Age in South-East Europe.
However, Govedarica is not known for his discoveries and achievements but only for his continuous unargumentative attacks on Osmanagic and the ongoing research project in the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids. Mr. Govedarica signed the petitions to UNESCO and Mr. Schwartz Schiling, where he falsely claimed that the Foundation was ruining the ancient city of Visoko. However, the Ministry of Culture of the Federation formed its own Commission to investigate such claims and proved that such claims were untrue.
As an archaeologist, Govedarica should know that only research could establish the scientific fact.
Did "Professor--Planned-for Wages- Blagoje Govedarica", have any human dignity or courtesy from the scientific perspective to apologize for his false claims? No!
Instead, even this year he continuously attacks the leading world's experts who are contributing to the Foundation's project. At the same time, he never even visited the archaeological locations in the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids.
One may understand ANUBiH and the author of the article as they wish to protect the legitimacy of Govedarica's attacks but Mr. Govedarica insulted and humiliated one of the leading world's experts- a three-time- Doctorate, Dr. Nabil Swelim and his colleagues (Prof. Mostafa Abbady-the founder of the Alexandrian Library, Prof, Mona Haggag, etc) -people who have legitimate titles, positions and scientific discoveries behind them. However, ANUBiH and „Oslobođenje" are depicting a picture about Govedarica as one of "the most eminent scientists in Europe" who is standing opposite to Dr. Swelim and his colleagues. Unfortunately, the reality is different. Mr. Govedarica never wrote a single scientific work or book on the pyramids. His pamphlets in "Oslobođenje" which he has been publishing for the past 3 years-- do not have the scientific arguments. They rather reflect a lack of his manners and his wish to prevent the Foundation from the archaeological research which has a great significance on a global level.
