First, as a journalist of the Federal News Agency (FENA), then as a volunteer and then as an employee of the Foundation, and now as the Assistant to Director, Sabina Osmanagich was a part from the beginning of the historical project which is implemented in Visoko for the past 12 years with the success. This was also the motive for the conversation, sometimes interrupted because the tourists were arriving and Sabina took care that no one needs is neglected.
– My official status here is the Assistant to Director and I’m in charge of the Foundation’s Office in Sarajevo, but during the weekends and during the week I manage to jump in and replace somebody, in order to help, so in this way, I am a guide, a promoter, a person for everything, as are the others in the Foundation. – Sabina said.
From the very beginning she was included in the project, so she revealed her satisfaction with the pace of the works but also with the development of the entire project.
– Archaeology is generaly slow and everything has to be done easily, without rushing so nothing stays unnoticed. We’ve developed the tourism to finance the research and interested in getting more people coming to visit. In the beginning I didn’t know much about the archaelogy, but the project sounded like something that can bring us together, to develope the country, because we can’t compete in the world by making cars, computers…, etc. We can offer the natural beauties, healthy water and food, and this attracted me; the possibility to position Bosnia-Herzegovina on the world map of the countries rich with natural beauties. What I insist on is that young people should gather and despite all the obstacles, we can do positive things and develop our country in a positive way – said the Assistant to Director of the “Archaeological-Touristic Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun” Foundation, Sabina Osmanagich.
Besides the numerous discoveries, and thousands of tourists visiting Visoko, the new discovery for the guests and the Visoko Citizens as well is the Archaeological-Tourist Park: “Ravne 2”. Sabina and Sam Osmanagich has donated to Foundation this park to manage it during next one hundred years, which is a rare thing to see anywhere around the world.
– All what we do isn’t about the money, or monumenting someone. The thing is that people need more positivity, to have the possibility to enjoy the same thing enjoyed by the other people from the world. We are especially happy to see Visoko Citizens here. We are happy to see people coming, to enjoy, to sit in a park, to meditate, to read books, children to play, everyone getting closer to the nature. This is the main thing and thing that makes us happy, to gather people, offering a content, so they can also learn something new. We have invested a lot, and we’ll keep doing it, which will remain it’s a kind of a legacy for the future generations. – Sabina Osmanagić said at the end.
