It took three months (January-March 2020) for the Foundation ‘Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun’ to complete the creation of a superb hiking footpath called ‘Pyramid Trail’.
The start and finish of the trail is in the park ‘Ravne 2’. The trail is superbly equipped to a high standard. It runs along the entire length outside of the paved roads and settlements, and almost exclusively in coniferous forest. The marking is twofold: with a ‘blue eye’ (a combination of inner white and outer blue circle) and with black arrows below. Dry branches were laid between the trees as a trail boundary. All dried branches, shrubs, ferns, low growths, leaves and garbage were removed from the trail.
An important feature is that the trail is looped (as desired by the most users), with storm shelter and resting points.
The use of the trail is free of charge and it is a gift from the Foundation to all future users.
Not only that. The Foundation is launching a new Facebook group called ‘Bosnian Pyramid Trail’ where users will be able to post photos they take while using the trail. They will have a special ‘Immunity Challenge’ to go through the trail and visit the Ravne tunnels and after that they will be eligible to receive one of the books authored by Dr. Sam Osmanagich (value 10-20 euro). This challenge begins when the restrictive measures imposed by the corona virus are abolished and the Ravne tunnels and park ‘Ravne 2’ are open to visit.
