Board of Directors of the “Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun” Foundation held it’s regular meeting on December 17, 2010 in hotel “Holiday Inn” in Sarajevo.
Based on conclusion of the “First International Scientific Conference about the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids” held in Sarajevo/Visoko in August 2008 (www.icbp.ba) that Second Conference is to be organized as a follow up, Board of Directors made a decision to organize Second Conference from September 5-10, 2011. Conference will getter the experts from different fields (archaeologists, geologists, anthropologists, medicine anthropologists, electromagnetic fields experts, geophysicists, and other). After the “ICBP 2011” Conference, the Proceedings will be published. Board of Directors named dr. Sam Semir Osmanagich as the Vice President of the Conference and he will prepare the suggestions for the Conference leaders and participants.
During the meeting, leading Foundation’s archaeologist dr. Sara Acconci from Italy had a presentation about the discovery of new open tunnel sections in the underground labyrinth “Ravne”. She laid out the plans for the next archaeological season, as well. They were supported by the members of the Board.
Board of Directors was informed about the progress on establishing the Foundations in Germany and Slovenia, media activities, promotional events in a period December, 2010 – March, 2011 and application of the volunteers for the International Summer Camp for Volunteers for the next season. Total of 120 volunteers from 26 countries applied so far, and over 500 applicants from over 30 countries are expected to come to Visoko next year.
