Ravne Tunnels
Working within Ravne tunnels helped to engage volunteers with the ongoing work in clearing new passageways and extending the existing network of tunnels and energy rooms. Participants were able to experience the physical aspect of seasonal field work at the site, work that is conducted throughout the year, even in winter. We regulated the work flow by creating a wheelbarrow chain inside the tunnels, volunteers were placed at intervals throughout the main passage from the entrance to the new working sections, this stimulated a speedier disposal of material and a greater amount of material for artefact screening.
Artefact Screening
Material outside of Ravne tunnels is processed by a select few volunteers that have an interest in working with artefacts and geological samples. We have an artefact screen set up outside of the tunnel entrance, by the dump site, material that is disposed of at the site is processed through the artefact screen so that any important material can be retrieved and stored.

Our participants spent one day helping to expose more of the concrete blocks on sonda (excavation site) 4a. Work was focused on removing top soil and vegetation, and clearance of soil build-up from erosion. Due to weather conditions, we could only allocate one day for work experience on this particular site, however, we tried to engage our participants as much as possible in all aspects of volunteer work.
