News outlets are blanketing us with updates on the coronavirus and the CDC’s prediction that variations of the virus are compounding and expediting the spread of the epidemic. I get a lot of questions about my understanding of this situation. Before I share my thoughts, I want to emphasize that this is a huge, controversial and emotionally charged subject, one that demands careful thought, research and action. I have no special insight into the genesis of this situation, besides the research I can do on my own and my own understanding of how disease works in the body.
