Last week in Visoko was the beginning of the new volunteering season and this time through the project „Expedition to the Bosnian Pyramids with volunteering“. In a conversation with the Foundation’s Guide Coordinator, Ajdin Ahmetspahić, we found out all the details related to the project, which is a continuation of the long term Foundation project, MRAV (International volunteer working activity).
– This is the expedition in which people from the entire world can participate. The first group finishes the turn on Wednesday, and in it, we had twenty participants from Australia, Finland, France, Slovakia, Turkey, England, Germany and Bosnia-Herzegovina. We’ve achieved great results working on the north side of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun, on clearing and expanding the probes, and we are planning to keep on working on the probes and clearing the parts of the old concrete. – Ahmetspahić pointed out.
In the expedition this year, we are expecting several hundreds of participants, which will volunteer in the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids, but also have the opportunity to know better the numerous beauties of our country.
– The expedition this year is divided into two turns monthly which last for 11 days. The first and the last day are planned for the arrival and departure, on the second day is the introductory visit of the Visoko sites, for four days they will work on the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun and one day on the site of the Prehistorical labyrinth of the Tunnel Ravne. The weekend is used for the tours around the other natural and cultural and historical beauties of our country. This year, the participants will spend one day on cave Bijambare, visit the medieval obelisk in Bakići near Olovo; on the second day they will visit Konjic and spend time on Boračko Lake, while the third day is reserved for the tour in the Park of the stone spheres in Zavidovići with a visit to the Vranduk Castle on the return. The goal is to show to the participants the numerous beauties of our country, to take a beautiful picture of our country with themselves and to visit many memorable places. – the Foundation Guide Coordinator, Ajdin Ahmetspahić explained.
This year’s „Expedition to the Bosnian Pyramids with Volunteering“ will gather hundred of the expedition participants and hundreds of volunteers, which will stay in our country in eight turns.
