After twelve years of the archaeological excavations at the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun, the “Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun” Foundation will be granted with an own part of the pyramid. Namely, the Founder of the Foundation and the Discoverer of the Bosnian Pyramids, Dr Sam Semir Osmanagich has purchased, together with his wife Sabina, two parcels at the pyramid.
The parcels are located at the foothill of the north side of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun with the surface of 2000 square meters. After the geodetic measurements were completed, the fencing of the location and fence mounting are in progress.
It’s planned that the Osmanagich’s will donate these parcels to the Foundation for a centennial management and use without any reimbursement. The signing of the Contract will be done at the solemn session of the Steering Board of the Foundation with the employees on December 2, 2017, in Visoko.
The plan is that the parcel becomes operative for the archaeological excavations and the opening of the new probes already in 2018. In this way, the volunteers and the Foundation workers will have a workspace secured, and the new concrete blocks will be touched by the sunlight.
The archeological and scientific explorations will be performed in accordance with the Resolution of the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia-Herzegovina on the activities of the Foundation and Urban Consent for the operations outside the protected zone of Old Town Visoko issued by the Ministry of Physical Planning of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Government, all in accordance with the present legal regulations of the Canton in the field of culture and museum activity.
