Every year during the winter time, the workers of the “Archeological park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun” Foundation, are working intensively in the prehistorical Underground Labyrinth Ravne.
The three teams have different tasks in the tunnels. Led by the experienced miner Fayko, the first team is working on the replacement of the deteriorated safety wooden support. This represents the biggest maintenance expense at the location because the replacement of the substructure is done continually throughout the entire year. We use processed wood without bark and surface is burned for a longer lifetime.
The second team, with Nermin and Sadžid, is working on the improvement of the supporting walls in the tunnels. They prepare the cylinders which are placed between the substructure and the supporting wall and this space is filled with the pebble. In this way, the supporting walls get reinforced.
The third team works on the cleaning of the new tunnel which is filled with the pebble all the way to the top. They use the shovel and the wheelbarrow as the tools. The intention is to clean as many tunnels as possible towards the South and the Bosnian pyramid of the Sun by the start of the next season so we can show the new findings to our regular visitors of the Foundation.
