On Wednesday, May 31, 2017, the 8th assembly session of the Municipal Council of Visoko (Congress 2016-2020) was held in Visoko. The Chairman of Visoko Council, Bajro Fejzić, announced to the people present that the guests of the session are representatives of the “Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun” Foundation, its founder and the director Dr. Sam Osmanagich and the member of the Board of Directors Mahir Hadžiahmetović (http://visoko.gov.ba/pregled-novosti/maj-2017/osma-sjednica-op%C4%87inskog-vije%C4%87a-visoko-obavje%C5%A1tenje.aspx
The second point of the agenda was the adoption of the Tourism Strategy of the Visoko Municipality for the period 2016-2024. During the discussion, the President of the Independent List Club, Prof. Dr. Izet Smajević thanked the Foundation representatives for coming and concluded that in the following time the governmental and non-governmental organizations will work together on the tourism development in Visoko.
During the discussion, Sam Osmanagich emphasized the importance of the adoption of the Tourism Development Strategy as the prime and most important strategic act of the Municipality, for whose creation the Foundation representatives have contributed and which will be the base for all operational activities. He suggested two initiatives:
– To adopt a conclusion that the Municipal Council of Visoko sends the proposal to the State Committee for the National Monuments Protection to downsize the range of the protected zone on the north side of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun, doubly, to allow the access for the archaeological and scientific operations in the area, which would trigger the interest of the tourist in a bigger scale, as well as volunteers and researchers, more visits to Visoko.
– That the Municipal Council of Visoko proclaims the “Archaeological-Tourist Park Ravne 2” as the park of the Significance for Visoko Municipality.
The Mayor of the Visoko Municipality, Amra Babić stressed out the importance of the creation and adoption of the Tourism Strategy for the upcoming period and regulation of the entire field of tourism and tourist infrastructure on the Municipal territory. She pointed out that she is supporting the initiative of the Foundation.
The Councillors have adopted unanimously the Tourism Development Strategy, and later, unanimously again, they adopted the two initiatives of the Foundation.
The elected representatives of the Visoko Municipality show in this way that without any reserve their support for the positive touristic processes generated by the Foundation and announced a full, opened and systematic cooperation between the Municipality and the Foundation.
