INTENSIVE WINTER ARCHAEOLOGICAL WORK IN THE ‘RAVNE’ TUNNEL
Saturday, 01 March 2025 11:31 Published in NewsWinter season 2024/2025 is a period of intense works in the Ravne tunnels in Visoko. The ‘Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun’ Foundation expert team implemented activities on protection and cleaning within the existing network of prehistoric tunnels.
So far, about 2.6 km of tunnels were cleared. The Foundation team finally succeeded after two years of work, reunite to the other part of the tunnel complex that has been cut off since one section (‘Orbs Chamber’) was buried after the use of a vibration roll during the paving of the road above the tunnel.
Now, the works on the wooden support replacement have been going on in complete tunnels to have the location ready for the touristic season, and provide a fully secure and protected environment for the visitors.
In the past few months, regular work of replacement of the wooden protection has been going, especially in the following areas: Meditation chambers near the block K 2, the block K 1, the block K 5, then in the location of the previous underground geological Museum, Chamber No. 3 (‘Water chamber’) and several intersections.
Mandator maintenance of the existing tunnel network, with respect to all mining and protection regulations is very expensive and costs the Foundation around 250,000 KM (or 130.000 euro) annually.
We hope that guests who come for the first time and those regular ones will appreciate benefits they have being exposed to the beneficial pyramid energy while visiting the tunnels.
From this season, access to the entire network of tunnels will be re-enabled.
The world tour and promotion of the Bosnian pyramids has been going on non-stop for 20 years.
