The phenomenal reception of Dr. Osmanagich in Bahrain
Friday, 14 February 2025 18:13 Published in NewsThe discoverer of the Bosnian pyramids, director of the Foundation ‘Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun’ , author and researcher, academic Dr. Sam Osmanagich was on a five-day visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain from 8-13 February 2025.
On that occasion, he met with a number of the Kingdom's business, cultural and political figures. On the first day of his visit to the capital Manami, Osmanagić held a meeting with the Bahrain-Bosnia and Herzegovina Society of Friendship and Business. It is an organization that is registered with the Ministry of Development of Bahrain and has been working for more than 10 years to develop cooperation between the two countries. It was noted that Dr. Osmanagich's visit will serve to intensify cooperation in the field of science, culture and tourism. The chairman of the Society is the esteemed businessman Al Hawaj, who is one of the most respected and influential businessmen in Bahrain. The Society's Board of Directors is headed by businessman Reyadh Yusuf who is the driving force behind this organization that connects the two countries.
Dr. Sam Osmanagich was a guest on the only domestic state TV channel in English. During the half-hour interview, he talked about two topics: (1) The award-winning documentary film "The Search for Paradise on Earth" "The Kingdom of Bahrain" which was written, directed and narrated by Dr. Osmanagich. The documentary was filmed during last year's (2024) visit to various locations across this island in the Arabian Gulf. The film won several festival awards and tells about the search for the "Land of Immortality" inhabited by the Sumerian god Enki. In a very affirmative way, it speaks of the fusion of modern and ancient Bahrain, rich in cultural heritage. The second topic was, of course, the Bosnian pyramids and the tourist promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina. An agreement has been made with the TV editors to show Osmanagić's film free of charge for the market of Bahrain and the seven GCC Gulf countries.
In the further part of the visit, Dr. Osmanagich met several times with the director of the National Museum of the Kingdom, Dr. Salman. With him, he visited two currently active archaeological sites: the cultural layer beneath the 4,000-year-old Bahraini fortress that the Danish expedition is working on, and Dilmun's tomb, which is being worked on by archaeologists from Japan.
At the National Museum of Bahrain, Dr. Sam Osmanagich gave a lecture on the significance of the Barbar Temple in Bahrain, which shows the identical architectural knowledge of the author as in locations in Peru, Egypt and Mexico. Most of the lecture was devoted to the true history of humanity, which is not linear and short of only 6,000 years, but is cyclical and goes back more than 100,000 years. He spoke at length about the scientific aspects of exploring the Bosnian pyramids, paving the way for a new generation of researchers who must approach the pyramids as an interdisciplinary scientific project, not just an archaeological one. His lecture left a strong impression on all present.
Dr. Osmanagić revisited the 4,500-year-old "Royal Tombs of Early Dilmun", the freshwater springs (‘Al Bahrein’ means the place where two waters meet, fresh and salt), the mysterious Barbar Temple and other ancient sites.
The meeting with the CEO of the Bahrain Directorate of Tourism and the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ms. Sara Ahmed Buhiji, was particularly significant. During the one-hour reception, the director reviewed the trailer for the film about Bahrain and enthusiastically agreed to promote it through the official Bahraini state channels. She also sought future cooperation with Dr. Osmanagich and the Bahrain-Bosnian Friendship and Business Society. She also expressed an interest for her visit to Visoko, Bosnia-Herzegovina.
During his stay in Manama in honor of Dr. Osmanagich, a solemn reception was held in the presence of prominent businessmen and public figures of the Kingdom. During his lecture, the discoverer of the Bosnian pyramids spoke of persevering in the path of truth despite the pressures and difficulties that may arise. A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the Bahrain Society and the Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation.
This visit was very well followed by the media; in addition to the television appearance, leading newspapers, such as ‘Gulf Daily News’ both in English and Arabic, a business magazine and other media interviewed the guest from Bosnia. In them, Dr. Osmanagić is heralded as a "top archaeologist" who gained "world fame by discovering the Bosnian pyramids".
Dr. Sam Osmanagich was invited for a second visit, which is likely to take place in February 2026, when new cooperation projects are expected to be implemented.
Tonight we explore the fascinating wonder of the Bosnian Pyramid.
