Abstract; The Ravne 3 tunnels were first discovered in 2018 and form part of the Ravne tunnels complex. This prehistoric subterranean network of passages is located on the outskirts of Visoko City and is approximately 2.5km northwest of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun. At a point in the past, the tunnels had been backfilled with loose geological rubble. Work since 2006 has been undertaken to remove this material in order to further explore the underground passages. One of the dominating features identified across the Ravne tunnels complex is the employment of simple drystone walls, which act as retaining gravity walls, holding in place the loose backfill. The discovered drystone walls in Ravne 3 matched the form and function of those found elsewhere across the Ravne complex, indicating the Ravne 3 blockage must be contemporary with the rest of the tunnel network. One drystone wall within Ravne 3 was found stratigraphically below two stalagmites. Using the U-Th method, geochronological analysis derived a relative upper age limit on the construction of the drywall and tunnel backfill to the Upper Palaeolithic.
