Everything is ready for the start of another major project of the ‘Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun’ Foundation. Specifically, it is the already traditional ‘Expedition to Bosnian Pyramids with Volunteer Work’. This year’s expeditions commence on June 4, 2018 and will last through the forthcoming summer months, with hundreds of volunteers from all over the world expected in Visoko, as was the case in previous years.
– The first group arrives on Sunday, June 4th, and it includes volunteers from the U.S., Australia, Finland, Norway, Netherlands and Sweden, so already in the first group we have three continents of the world represented. After a tour of the sites, the work is planned to start as early as Tuesday, and it will take place on the site of Probe 6 at the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun – we were told by Ajdin Ahmetspahić, Coordinator for Guides and Volunteers with the Foundation.
Volunteers will work under close oversight of Foundation coordinators and experts, as was the case in previous years, and they will be housed in Visoko.
– Our last year’s coordinators, Marie-Sophie from Marseille, France and Tarik Karamehić from Visoko, will be working with the volunteers, and, starting this year, Richard Hoyle, a geologist from Leeds, England, will be overseeing volunteers’ field work – Ahmetspahić clarified.
Naturally, along with working in the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids, the volunteers from all over the world can look forward to an unforgetable stay in our country, that will include daily visits to various landmarks, such as a tour of the capital city of Sarajevo, a visit to the town of Zavidovići, a trip to the Boračko Lake…
