In the first quarter of 2020, the ‘Archeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun’ Foundation implemented a new, large project. On the properties owned by the Foundation, the town of Visoko and the Federation, the Foundation team has made a new footpath through 5.5 km of pine forest.
Dozens of workers, and occasionally the Foundation’s guides and expert team, worked intensively to clear the forest, cut down dry branches and remove shrubs through the forest.
A particular challenge was the messy section of the town lot between the park ‘Ravne 2’ and the pine forest on the federal land. The lot was full of garbage, glass, low vegetation, lianas, dried branches and leaves that had been deposited on this lot for years. The creek, which runs through this parcel, has been rubbish in the past when it swells. The earthen bridge, made by the Foundation four years ago, was damaged.
Foundation’s workers worked for days on this section until it was brought to a very decent condition. Now the transition from ‘Ravne 2’ to Pine Forest is very comfortable for the users of this trail.
With the help of mechanization, a terrace was prepared on which a wooden table with benches will be set up as a resting place for the users of the new trail called the ‘Pyramid Trail’..
The entrance to the pine forest is very steep, so the Foundation staff laid wooden steps on that part. This is a sign that the trail is intended for pedestrians only and not for motorcycles, bicycles and vehicles.
The main reason for creating this track is to strengthen the immunity of its users. Coniferous forest emits essential oils – phytoncides – to fight germs. As we stroll through the woods we inhale these fumes, the breath combines with these components. The effect is: enhanced immunity for two months.
The use of the track is free and open to anyone. We expect its full use when the quarantine period has passed.
