Slovak Jiří Šaharin Has Been Bringing Groups to Visoko for Years: Park Ravne 2 Enriched with a Dodecahedron Installation

Jiří Šaharin from Slovakia, a longtime friend of the “Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun” Foundation, has for years organized several group trips a year from his home country, with the goal of bringing his fellow citizens closer to the natural, archaeological, and touristic offerings of Visoko.

On each of his trips, Jiří brings groups of around twenty visitors, who during their stay tour the prehistoric underground labyrinth of Ravne, the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun, the Bosnian Pyramid of the Moon, the tumulus in Vratnica, Park Ravne 2, and other sites of the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids. Many of them, after their first visit, decide to return again, and it is precisely this way of getting to know the project that has contributed to Visoko becoming an increasingly recognized destination among visitors from Slovakia in recent years.

After numerous visits and years of cooperation with the Foundation, Jiří Šaharin decided to leave a lasting mark in Park Ravne 2 as well. As a token of friendship and support for the project, he donated to the park a dodecahedron installation — a geometric solid that holds special symbolic meaning across various philosophical and spiritual traditions.

The dodecahedron is one of the five Platonic solids and has throughout history often been associated with harmony, balance, and wholeness. In many meditative practices it is regarded as a symbol of space, universal connection, and inner balance, which is why it is used as an inspiration for contemplation and meditation. Its regular geometric form has long attracted the attention of researchers of sacred geometry, who associate it with the harmony of natural patterns and universal principles.

With the installation of this piece, Park Ravne 2 has gained another feature that fits the concept of a space dedicated to nature, art, education, and the world’s diverse cultures. Visitors now also have the opportunity to become acquainted with this geometric form, which across different civilizations has represented a symbol of harmony and of humanity’s connection with nature and the universe.
