On Saturday, July 18, 2026, the director of the “Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun” Foundation Dr. Sam Osmanagich received a group of visitors from Bulgaria, led by Branimir, who is coming to the District of the Bosnian Pyramids for the fourth time this year.
Since Dr. Osmanagich regularly travels to Bulgaria for presentations and research on megalithic sites, and gives interviews to Bulgarian media, it is no surprise that groups from Bulgaria stop by Visoko every year to visit the Ravne tunnels, the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun, and the “Ravne 2” park. Branimir once attended a presentation by the discoverer of the Bosnian pyramids in Varna, and has been regularly bringing groups to the oldest pyramid complex in the world ever since.
During his presentation at the “Kupola” (Dome), Sam Osmanagich spoke about the discoveries and the purpose of the pyramids, as well as about the “Ravne 2” park as a regional cultural, sports, and spiritual oasis. The applause at the end and the numerous questions were proof of the Bulgarians’ interest and approval.
Osmanagich reminded them that 2,500 years ago a single language was spoken across this region — from the territories of present-day northern Italy (the Veneti), through Croatia and Slovenia (the Histri, Liburni, Delmatae), Bosnia and Herzegovina (the Daesitiates, Breuci, Daorsi), Serbia (the Pannonians, Triballi), to Macedonia and Bulgaria (the Thracians), and Romania (the Dacians). Also not forgotten was the 10th-century border on the Drina River between the Bulgarian Empire and the Croatian Kingdom, when the Bogomil philosophy came from Bulgaria into Bosnia. It was quickly banned in Bulgaria, but on Bosnian soil it continued to live on for the next 350 years and spread across Europe (the Cathars, the Patarenes).
Dr. Sam Osmanagich announced his upcoming attendance at the gathering in Petrich, Bulgaria, on the first weekend of August 2026, where he will address the Bulgarian public.
