On Saturday, September 21, 2024, starting at 6:00 p.m., another exceptional event will take place in the cinema of the ‘Archaeological-Tourist-Sports Park Ravne 2’ in Visoko. There will be a world premiere of a documentary called ‘Searching for Paradise on Earth – Kingdom of Bahrain’.
The author of the film is Dr. Sam Osmanagich, who shot the film during his visit to Bahrain in 2024. The documentary tells about his search for ancient stories about the god Enki who lived for a thousand years in a happy land with lots of water sources and avenues of palm trees, beasts that didn’t attack other animals and people who were immortal. In his search, Osmanagić visits Bahrain, shows moments from its current and past life. Did he find evidence for the location where Enki lived? The answer is at the end of the film.
The film has so far won at two festivals: Anatolian Film Awards (Turkey) and the film festival ‘Solar Screens’ (Ciudad de Mexico), and has been shortlisted at four festivals (Veneto International Film Festival, Bayelsa International Film Festival, International Festival Mam and Zin, Touchstone Independent Film Festival) so further successes can be expected.
The film was edited by Nusret Smajović, with the assistance of Adnan Pašić. The film is in English. The world premiere will be held in February 2025 in the capital of Bahrain, Manama.
